“Come on guys, lets just go,” Cherry said,
“She’s obviously not in the house, maybe she went out the back door and ran.” She continued saying as she backed away from the house.
“Kelly! Are you there, were leaving. If you think this is some kind of joke, it’s not a funny one.” Maddy said.
The three girls started walking away, they continued walking when there was a loud crash coming from the inside of the house. That’s when they started running; they ran all the way from that house and were about to get over the fence when they heard screams coming from the house. They paused for a moment, then Brooke jumped the fence and started running, it didn’t take long for the others to follow.
They finally reached the out side of the school, gasping for breath. They hadn’t stopped running since they heard the screams.
“What do we do? That had to have been Kelly, no one else was there!” Cherry worried.
“Well what do you propose we do now, I’m sure not going back there. Do you want to go by yourself?” Brooke snapped.
“No… Do you think she’s okay?” Cherry worried.
“Cherry, none of us know! Stop asking stupid questions. If she’s not back by tomorrow, we can report it.” Brooke replied
The girls went home individually, and worried until sleep drifted across their eyes. They all eventually went to sleep, and morning came as it always did. Each girl rode to school, and met at the same spot they always did. This time there was no conversation, no gossip, just silence.
The day continued until lunchtime came, Maddy was making her way through the hallways when she heard Jennifer B. talking to her group of friends, “Did you see Kelly today? I never pay much attention to her, but something looks seriously wrong…”
“Kelly? She’s here today? Did you see her? Did you talk to her?” Maddy asked.
“What’s it matter to you.” Jennifer said walking away.
Maddy started running through the halls trying to get to the lunchroom, and then she saw Kelly sitting there. She definitely looked different. Maddy looked around trying to find Brooke and Cherry, but couldn’t see them anywhere. So she decided to talk to Kelly.
“Kelly… Are you okay?” Maddy said quietly.
“I’m fine, lets talk in private, please.” Kelly replied looking down at her plate the whole time.
They walked together in silence to the bathrooms; luckily no one was in there.
Maddy turned to face Kelly and started to ask what was wrong when she felt the sharp pain in her neck.
“Sorry Maddy. You really shouldn’t have left me.” Kelly said with a slight smile.
Kelly pulled the fork from Maddy’s neck and let her fall to the ground.
All Maddy could see was Kelly’s feet walking out of the bathroom, she barely managed to turn her head and saw Brooke’s face laying on the floor of the bathroom stall staring at her. The last thing Maddy saw that day was the glaring face of Brooke.

She took a seat at the table, the same empty table she’s sat at over the two years of high school. Then her watch beeped twice, it was 12:00pm. She looked up to see Maddy standing right in front of her, staring.
“Since you didn’t show yesterday, I guess well just have to see you today. Be outside the school no later then 2:40pm. We’ll be waiting.” Maddy said, then turned and walked away.
The whole day Kelly went from class to class dreading for the end of the day.
Last period finally came, minutes away from the bell ringing. She anxiously looked at the clock as it ticked, ticked, ticked away. Then the bell rang, she walked through the busy halls, kids racing to get home.
She finally got outside, there they were, standing, waiting.
“Lets go.” Brooke said. The four of them walked in silence until they reached the big old house. She drove past if every day, before and after school. Many rumors were spread about the house, but the one thing all of the rumors had in common is that whoever goes in does not come out.
“What are we doing here?” Kelly said nervously.
“We have a little test for you, first go over the fence.” Brooke said with a smirk. Kelly climbed over the fence hesitantly with the other three following. Brooke opened the door and stared at Kelly. Kelly knew she wanted her to go in. “I’m not going in there.” Kelly said.
“Come on, we all will.” Brooke said with a slight look of trust on her face. Kelly walked in slowly, and turned around to see the door shut.
“Open the door!” Screamed Kelly.
“Come on Brooke… Open the door.” Cherry said.
“Fine…” Brooke said releasing the handle. Maddy stepped over and tried to open the door, but it was stuck.
“Kelly, open the door.” Maddy said annoyed… “Kelly, this isn’t funny.”
There was no response. Maddy tried again to open the door, but nothing.

Over the fence #2
“Mom, I don’t think I can go to school today…” Kelly whined.
“Kelly… I know you have that big science test today, don’t think ill let you out of this one.” Replied her mother.
“What if they see me? What will they say? How do I get out of this one…” Kelly thought. Kelly never showed up yesterday to meet Maddy, Cherry and Brooke. She was to afraid. After all the years of them making fun of her, like everyone else, why do they now want to hang out with her?
“Kelly! Get in the car, you’re going to be late!” Her mom yelled from downstairs.
“Well… I cant hide forever…” Kelly mumbled.
Kelly got in the car and waited for her arrival at Hollianne high school. Minutes later it came into view, the big ugly statue of their school mascot, the donkey. Standing right behind it was Brooke. Great, just great, at least Maddy and Cherry aren’t with her.
“Have a good day at school! Good luck on your test!” Kelly’s mom said while driving off. Kelly put her backpack over her shoulder and began walking to the front of the school, looking at her feet. She was almost there too, when suddenly someone grabbed her shoulder.
She turned around to see Cherry standing there. “Why didn’t you show yesterday? Was someone to chicken?” Cherry said holding one hand on her hip. “Maddy and Brooke are furious, your lucky I got to you first… But it wont take long for them to notice you. I would strongly recommend sitting with a group at lunch, or by a teacher, you know how Brooke can get.” Cherry said, then turned away and started making her way to Brooke.

“They always think they’re so much better than everyone else.” Kelly thought to herself. Kelly was sitting at the empty table in the full lunchroom. Everyone tended to avoid Kelly, she never knew why.
Kelly sat there alone, staring at the three girls. Maddy, the blond hair blue eyed Barbie. Cherry, the petite red head with a big attitude. Finally, Brooke, Brooke had black hair and black eyes, it always seemed like she was glaring at you… Although she probably was.
All of a sudden, the trio stood up and started walking in her direction.
“Oh god… Oh god… They’re not coming over to me, are they?” Kelly thought. Then, it happened. “Hey Kelly!” said Maddy, pretending to be nice.
“Oh, uh… Hi guys…” Kelly managed to spit out.
“We were just wondering…” Started Cherry.
“If you wanted to hang out with us after school tomorrow?” Interrupted Maddy.
Kelly tried to think of something to say, but she had no idea. Brooke’s staring eyes didn’t help. “Well… I guess…” Kelly said doubtfully.
Kelly sat there looking at her tray wondering if she should go with the girls or not?
A: does she show up?
B: does she ditch?
